Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
PinkPass respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PinkPass you agree to what is described here.
1. Who we are
PinkPass is a nightlife and events directory built for the LGBT community across Asia, operated by Phoenix Ascend Pte. Ltd. ("PinkPass", "we", "us"). Questions about this policy go to hello@pinkpass.asia.
2. What we collect
Account information. Your name, username, email address, password (encrypted — we never see it in plain text), and an optional referral code.
Identity information. Some events are legally restricted by gender, and some content is 18+. To handle that we ask for:
- Legal gender
- Sexual identity — optional, used to personalise content. "Prefer not to disclose" is always available.
- Birthday — day and month required; year optional, used for age verification and birthday rewards.
These fields are stored in a private area of your account that only you can read. They are never shown publicly, never shown to venues, and never used to target you to a venue.
Usage information. Venues you follow, posts you like, events you RSVP to, check-ins, and PinkPoints activity.
Location. Used to show venues near you and to confirm you are at a venue when you check in. You can refuse location access and pick your city by hand instead — the app still works.
Payment information. Event tickets are processed by our payment provider, HitPay. We never receive or store your full card details.
Content you provide. Photos, captions, reviews and anything else you choose to post.
Notifications. If you allow push notifications we store a device token so we can send them. Turn them off at any time in your device settings.
3. How we use it
- To create and run your account
- To show you relevant venues, events and content
- To process ticket purchases and award PinkPoints
- To enforce age verification for 18+ content and legally restricted events
- To send account and service notifications
- To improve and secure the platform
- To send birthday rewards and offers — you can opt out at any time
4. What we never do
These are hard rules in how PinkPass is built, not preferences:
- We never sell your personal information, and we never export or hand over customer lists. Venues can reach customers only through an in-app broadcast that we deliver — they never receive the underlying list.
- Your contact details never reach a venue. Not your phone number, not your email, not your social handle — not even to pass on a table request. Venues reply to you through PinkPass.
- Your loyalty cards are private by default. A venue sees an anonymous card number, not you. Your identity is attached to a card only if you switch that card to public yourself, one card at a time.
- Your PinkPoints balance is private, including from friends. Only your tier badge is ever public.
5. Age restrictions
PinkPass is for people aged 18 and over. Some venues and events are restricted to age-verified users. By using PinkPass you confirm you are at least 18.
6. Third parties
- Firebase (Google) — sign-in, database, storage, push notifications and hosting
- HitPay — payment processing for event tickets
- Google Maps — maps and directions
- Instagram (Meta) — only where a venue has connected its own Instagram account to republish its own posts. This never touches a customer's Instagram.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security standards.
7. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we must keep something for legal or safety reasons.
8. Your rights
- View, update or correct your information at any time in the app
- Delete your account and its data from inside the app — Profile → settings → Delete Account. See how to delete your account.
- Opt out of promotional messages
- Withdraw location access in your device settings
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption. No system is completely secure and we cannot promise absolute security.
10. Children
PinkPass is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn that a minor has created an account we will delete it.
11. Where your data is processed
PinkPass operates across Asia, including Singapore, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Vietnam. By using the app you consent to your information being processed in the countries where we and our providers operate.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. We will tell you about significant changes in the app or by email. Continuing to use PinkPass after a change means you accept the updated policy.
